Tomorrow I will say goodbye to Nottingham (for now...). Over the past 5 weeks, this tiny flat has become my home and a part of me will miss it greatly. The small closet space, lack of privacy and lack of a decent mirror will definitely not be missed, but the adventures I've had here will be.
To celebrate our final day here in Nottingham, Hank and I spent some time down at the fake beach in the city center. We enjoyed watching the people that had come to play in the fountain, ride carnival rides and relax in the sand. It's so wonderful to see people really enjoying the city they live in. I love that you are allowed to play in the fountain and splash around whenever you like. I wish more fountains were allowed to be played in.
I spent the afternoon packing. It was more like magic than packing because I have no idea how I fit all our stuff into those suitcases (we actually had to buy an extra carry on). Our flat looks a little empty now that everything is packed. How we're going to carry all our luggage to the train station is beyond me. I'm just hoping that we haven't exceeded the checked baggage weight limit. Guess we'll find out!
Since my access to internet over the next several days will most likely be very limited, this will probably be the last time I can write. I'm going to miss my blog. We've become friends. I've had a wonderful time writing about the adventures I've had over the past 6 weeks. Looking back, I'm amazed at home much I've seen and what wonderful things I've had the opportunity to do. I consider myself very lucky and I'm so glad that I have Hank to share these memories with. I'm certainly going to miss England, but I can't wait to come home...there is a little weenie dog waiting for me!
..and what a great blog it has been. I've loved living vicariously through you!! We're all glad you are coming home (not just that bad weenie dog), but I believe Josh most of all. See you both Wednesday!!!
